Hotels and guesthouses that book direct
Every booking that arrives through a platform costs you a commission you could have kept. A hotel or guesthouse website earns its keep by winning some of those back, which means being findable, being trustworthy at a glance, and making the direct booking easier than the alternative.
What we keep finding
- The website is worse than the property's own listing on the booking platforms, so the guest completes the booking there and the commission goes with them.
- Room pages with two photographs and no floor size, no bed configuration and no view description, which is exactly what the platform does supply.
- No direct booking at all, or a form that promises a reply within 24 hours to someone deciding tonight.
- Nothing about the surroundings, when the real search is not for a hotel but for a place to stay near a specific thing.
- Prices and availability that contradict the platforms, which trains the guest never to check the site again.
What we build
- Room pages that beat the platform listing on photography, detail and honesty about what the room is not
- Direct booking wired to your existing channel manager, with a reason to use it rather than a plea
- Pages for the reasons people actually come — the trail, the wedding venue, the conference, the ski lift
- Local SEO for area searches, in the languages your guests arrive speaking
- Hotel and LocalBusiness schema so the property shows correctly in maps, search and AI travel answers
Why direct beats commission
You will not replace the platforms and should not try. What a good direct site does is capture the guest who has already decided on your property and is doing one last check before booking — the one search that is genuinely yours to win. On that search your own site should be the best page about your property on the internet, and it usually is not.
FAQ
Will this stop us needing the booking platforms?
No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. The platforms are how most guests discover you. The site is how you keep the ones who were coming anyway, and the difference is the commission on those bookings.
Can it connect to our channel manager?
Usually yes. We work with what you already run rather than asking you to migrate. If your system has no sensible way to connect, the audit will say so plainly before anyone commits.
We are a four-room guesthouse. Is this overkill?
It is a smaller build, not a different one. A guesthouse with four rooms and no commission on direct bookings often sees the arithmetic work faster than a hotel with forty.
